How do I have things I love already? Easy. Vegan Mofo is pretty incredible, with so many wonderful vegan bloggers coming together to share all their different stories and recipes and reviews and hot tips and whatever.<\/p>\n<p>Like I said in my intro, I wanted to use my usual <a href=\"https:\/\/meshell.ca\/blog\/category\/tilt\/\">Things I Love Thursday post<\/a> to share some of my favourite posts and themes of the week.<\/p>\n<p>I love travelling, and we went to New Orleans in December, so I&#8217;m loving the posts from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.laughfrodisiac.com\/miscellany\/veganmofo-2014-begins-tomorrow-whats-my-theme\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Laughfrodesiac<\/strong>, especially focusing on New Orleans (this week) and a new theme and location every week<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mary&#8217;s Test Kitchen<\/strong> &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marystestkitchen.com\/vegan-mofo-vegan-month-cultured-cheese-youtube\/\" target=\"_blank\">An entire month of Vegan Cultured Cheese WITH video.\u00a0<\/a>\u00a0Yes, an entire month of vegan cultured cheese videos. Amazing.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/SSkkAEMtDcU\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>A 10 year old lifelong vegan&#8217;s blog &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/peacelovebevegan.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Peace, Love, Be Vegan<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; her theme is &#8220;How This Kid Gets Protein&#8221; but frankly, I&#8217;m just really jazzed to see a young vegan blogger, and what she&#8217;s eating.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/dumbledoresveganarmy.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dumbledore&#8217;s Vegan Army<\/a><\/strong> is back this year for VeganMoFo!!! Vegan twists on classic foods from the World of Harry Potter (and some tips on vegan stuff at The Wizardly\u00a0World of Harry Potter in Universal Studios!!!) (how many more exclamation points can I add to this?)<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/tofu-n-sproutz.blogspot.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tofu Mom<\/a> <\/strong>is doing a month of Gravy. GRAVY people. Vegan, obviously. And then I saw this amazing looking biscuit recipe on <a href=\"http:\/\/veganheritagepress.com\/2014\/09\/vegan-flaky-buttermilk-herb-biscuits\/\" target=\"_blank\">Vegan Heritage Press<\/a> from Zsu Dever&#8217;s\u00a0<strong><strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/098546626X\/cookbooksbyrobin\" target=\"_blank\">Everyday Vegan Eats<\/a><\/em><\/strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>which looks like it would be amazing with gravy. What can I say, I just really like biscuits and gravy (maybe that should be my theme next year&#8230;)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.diylettante.com\/vegan-mofo-theme\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>DIYLettante<\/strong> is doing a month of vegan Jewish Food<\/a>, which is awesome, because September contains a high holiday (I&#8217;m looking at you Rosh Hashana), and it&#8217;s always great to have new ideas.<\/p>\n<p>Say you like following along with Vegan Travel &#8211; well, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/vegannomnoms.net\/\" target=\"_blank\">Vegan Nom Noms<\/a><\/strong> is in the middle of a Vegan Roadtrip right now, so I&#8217;m following along in nostalgic\u00a0roadtrip fashion. It&#8217;s awesome to see someone visiting some of the same cities&#8230; but yet finding totally different places to actually visit inside the city. Also, I like the extra coop info\/&#8221;places to buy groceries&#8221; info she&#8217;s been sharing\u00a0for\u00a0some places.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/hanalow.wordpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hana Low<\/a><\/strong> is taking the SNAP challenge for VeganMoFo and <a href=\"http:\/\/feedingamerica.org\/get-involved\/hunger-action-month.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Hunger Action Month<\/a>. Where she will be taking the <a href=\"http:\/\/feedingamerica.org\/get-involved\/hunger-action-month\/snap-challenge.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">SNAP Challenge<\/a> and will try to live within the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program budget of around $4.50 per day which is the average benefit in Colorado where she lives.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mammituokkonen.blogspot.ca\/2014\/09\/quark-pulla-rahkapulla.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Mammi<\/strong> is covering Finish Coffee Table culture<\/a>, which I have never heard of, and am interested in learning more about. AND has made me want to make <a href=\"http:\/\/mammituokkonen.blogspot.fi\/2014\/03\/pulla.html\" target=\"_blank\">Pulla dough<\/a> sometime to try out some of these recipes.<\/p>\n<h2>Recipes<\/h2>\n<p>Speaking of recipes&#8230; in addition to the ones I&#8217;ve mentioned above, \u00a0a few recipes I saw in the past few days really stood out for me. And besides these, there are so many great\u00a0ideas and recipes going on, it&#8217;s hard to pick. Check out <a href=\"http:\/\/www.veganmofo.com\/veganmofo-2014-wednesday-round-up\/\" target=\"_blank\">VeganMoFo&#8217;s own recipe round up<\/a> for lots of yummy looking things.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3828\" src=\"https:\/\/meshell.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/peaches.jpg\" alt=\"peaches\" width=\"960\" height=\"960\" srcset=\"https:\/\/meshell.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/peaches.jpg 960w, https:\/\/meshell.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/peaches-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/meshell.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/peaches-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/meshell.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/peaches-230x230.jpg 230w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We bought a 7L basket of peaches from <a href=\"http:\/\/westendfood.coop\/\" target=\"_blank\">West End Food Coop<\/a> this week, so this recipe for a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.connoisseurusveg.com\/2014\/08\/avocado-peach-pie-smoothie.html\" target=\"_blank\">Peach Pie Smoothie from<strong> Connoisseurus\u00a0Veg<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0did it for me. I don&#8217;t have much of an appetite this week, but peaches are still on the LOVE list.<\/p>\n<p>I sent this recipe over to JC yesterday, and we almost immediately went (at 11 pm) to the grocery store pick up some avocados so we could eat it\u00a0this\u00a0morning.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/instagram.com\/p\/rXf-WFiish\/embed\/\" width=\"612\" height=\"710\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><br \/>\n<strong>Forks and Beans<\/strong> posted a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.forkandbeans.com\/2014\/08\/06\/raw-lime-coconut-pie\/\" target=\"_blank\">Raw Lime Coconut Pie<\/a>, and I really really love lime and coconut pie, and I might even make this this month.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/instagram.com\/p\/sfqHNqtcBj\/embed\/\" width=\"612\" height=\"710\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><br \/>\nThe Grumpy Sailor posted this amazingly delicious looking <a href=\"http:\/\/thegrumpysailor.com\/2014\/09\/02\/seitan-and-apricot-tagine\/\" target=\"_blank\">Seitan Tagine with Apricots &amp; Dates<\/a>\u00a0(and it&#8217;s their first VeganMoFo, so go send them some love if you haven&#8217;t yet, so many great ideas.)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/hellyeahitsvegan.com\/vegan-corn-dogs\/\" target=\"_blank\">Vegan Corn Dogs<\/a> from Hell Yeah it&#8217;s Vegan. I want to make these, I do, but I&#8217;ll probably have to wait until Hanukkah when I have a pot full of oil waiting for sufganiyot (aka donuts). First donuts, then corn dogs. Luckily Hell Yeah It&#8217;s Vegan <a href=\"http:\/\/hellyeahitsvegan.com\/vegan-sufganiyot-jelly-doughnuts\/\" target=\"_blank\">also has a recipe for those too<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>What is your favourite VeganMoFo find so far?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sure sure, it&#8217;s been only a few days of Vegan MoFo.
