After our meal at Tien Garden<\/a>, we decided to go to the Empire State building. Jordan had never been up there, and I really enjoyed the view and collection of pictures from the last time I went there several years ago. One thing I never realized until our trip was that New York city is BUSY in December. I always thought peak travel times were in the summer, I was oh so wrong.<\/p>\n

To give you just a small idea, this is what the area around Macy’s looked like from the Empire State Building, each dot is one person:<\/p>\n

We picked up a CityPass, and went up to the top of the tower in a crowded elevator. The views are spectacular, so my camera was clicking nonstop from every possible side of the building, which is hard, because it was totally packed. Jordan is not a fan of heights or looking down, but eventually was coaxed to the stand with me near the edge. I have a seemingly anti-evolutionary enjoyment of heights, so I’m accustomed to people being really nervous, when I’m not.<\/p>\n

Apparently there were other reasons for Jordan to be nervous. As I was taking pictures of the sun setting, he hugged me and put his head on my shoulder, and started saying a variety of nice things in my ear. It took me a moment to realize what was happening, so there is a series of pictures that slowly start dropping as I clue into the words he’s saying, ending in “will you marry me”.<\/p>\n

\nWe were surrounded by well over a hundred people,(and get ready for the cliche…) but in that moment I felt like we were the only two people there. (p.s. I said yes!)<\/p>\n

\nThen of course, it was time to celebrate, and what better place than Candle 79<\/a>? I’ve heard so much about it, I’ve made some of their recipes, it was time to experience the real deal.<\/p>\n
