One of the first new-to-me places we visited on our last visit to Las Vegas was Pop Up Pizza<\/a>. JC found it looking for vegan pizza options in Las Vegas, and stumbling on this Eating Vegan in Vegas<\/a> page.<\/p>\n

It’s inside the Plaza Hotel & Casino. At first it just looks like one of those regular old casino fast food joints (as in – why even check if it has vegan options), but it becomes obvious that it’s so much more. They have around 6 pizzas on display, and one of those was their vegan pie, The Soho, with daiya, spinach, mushrooms, artichoke, and roasted bell pepper. The thing that really separates them from a place like A Slice of Vegas is that you can buy vegan pizza by the slice. It looked and tasted great.<\/p>\n

Worth noting is that it is slightly more expensive than the regular pizzas. Both the full pie and by the slice… but they have specials printed on their counter that you might want to pay attention to, because they make the whole meal a really great deal. We took advantage of the two slices and one large pop at a discounted price.<\/p>\n

Other vegan options include garlic knots (they’ll skip the parm).<\/p>\n

And also vegan soft serve, as their default offering soft serve offering. They’ve got vanilla, chocolate, and twist options. I got the twist since merely a few days before I was lamenting the lack of vegan twist options in the world. I do hope I see it more often.<\/p>\n

(as an aside: this reminds me of a place in Edmonton, that had secretly vegan soft serve. I don’t necessarily want to give you hope that there is a secretly vegan soft serve place near you… but it doesn’t hurt to ask what kind of mix they use. Some of them are entirely non-dairy)<\/p>\n

In store service was really quick and friendly.<\/p>\n

Later that week, we also ordered delivery to the hotel. It was hard to get a hold of them on the phone, but it was a Saturday night so it wasn’t a big deal. We ordered a large veganized “Newport” pizza and four vegan garlic knots (because I really liked them when we had them in store.)<\/p>\n

So here’s where things get a little less awesome. The delivery person would not come into the hotel, so he called us to come down and find him outside. Weird, but whatever. The pizza was good as it was before, but sadly the garlic knots we ordered were covered in cheese. Leaving me a little (okay, a lot) disappointed. (In case you’re wondering… they will not deliver the soft serve – it wasn’t a surprise, but we asked just in case.)<\/p>\n

If we feel like having pizza in Las Vegas, I probably wouldn’t order delivery from them again (the pizza was fine though, the process was weird), but I would visit their location directly.<\/p>\n
