I’ve done Things I love Thursday (aka TILT) posts before, and usually aim to do them at least once a month, otherwise, there is weekly list of things\/people\/etc on my twitterstream<\/a>. The premise is to simply list or photograph or share things you love, and talk about them (or not). It was once upon a time started by Gala Darling<\/a>, and took on a life of it’s own.<\/p>\n

The one thing I like about it is that it can show me how much things change, or completely stay the same. I looked at one of my last year’s VeganMoFo<\/a> TILT posts, and so many familiar themes came up.<\/p>\n

Just like last year I still love tea in big black polished museum style mugs. I’ve since added similarly styled mugs from Harvard when JC and I visited Boston<\/a> in April.<\/p>\n

\"Thanksgiving<\/a><\/p>\n

I love that (Canadian) Thanksgiving is coming soon (THIS WEEKEND!) We still haven’t decided what we’re doing, but I know I’m looking forward to cooking something great up. The benefit of blogging and cataloging everything as I do, is that I get to both look back<\/a> and see all the stuff I’ve done, as well as all the stuff I have yet to do. I’m thankful that I have a lovely person to cook for (and you know, share my life with.)<\/p>\n

I’ve started getting a bit more actively involved in my community, in organizations that are doing cool innovative stuff and combining my love of technology with the love I have for my adopted city and food.\u00a0 One of those is the Toronto Youth Food Policy Council<\/a>. I’m excited and looking forward to our first meeting<\/a> (on October 15th, at Metro Hall…)<\/p>\n

I love lunch dates with friends, and book sales at the TVA.<\/p>\n

I love that Fall is here. Ontario’s slow rolling autumns, filled with colours, the harvest, and sweater weather. I’m looking forward to winter in an odd way this year, with dreams of hot chocolate and lighting the fireplace curled up on the couch with a blanket and a cat (and maybe a human.)<\/p>\n

\"Soma<\/a><\/p>\n

I love that I’m going to TedxToronto<\/a> this year. They announced the first round of invites last week, and I cautiously checked my email, and there it was. Welcome, and you’re invited. I suppose this will give me the courage to sometime apply for the original TED. Either way, I can only imagine the interesting speakers and other folks I’ll be meeting or learning from\/with.<\/p>\n

I love this Cat. Even when she demands to sit on the table. Even when I find her (toy) mice in our bed. Even when she wakes us up by jumping from one belly to another. She is a sweet little thing and I am so glad we found her. I’m happy that organizations such as the Toronto Cat Rescue<\/a>, Annex Cat Rescue<\/a>, and Street Cat Rescue<\/a> exist in the world. They are powered by selfless volunteers that have decided to take action, and do something to improve the lives of other creatures. Every step in a positive direction is important.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
